Announcing the 2018

Right to Life of Northeast Ohio

ORATORY CONTEST

March 24, 2018

 

  • This contest is open to juniors or seniors who are residents of or attend school in Summit or Portage County.  (Other local county Right to Life chapters will be holding separate contests.)
  • The purpose of the contest is to promote the ability of high school juniors and seniors to share their pro-life views with others.
  • Contestants are to research, write and present an original 5-7 minute pro-life speech about abortion, infanticide, euthanasia or stem-cell research. 
  • First place winner will receive $100; second place winner will receive $50.
  • The first place winner will represent Right to Life of Northeast Ohio at the state contest in Columbus on April 28, 2018, sponsored by Ohio Right to Life.
  • The winner of the state contest will receive an all-expense paid trip to represent Ohio Right to Life at the National Right to Life Jane B. Thomas Oratory Contest to be held at the National Right to Life convention in Kansas City, Kansas this June 28-30, 2018.
  • The winner of the national contest receives a $1,000 scholarship.
