who was considering an abortion drove by and their heart was pricked. Only eternity will tell.)

 Life Chain 2017 - Sunday, October 1

Annually, on the first Sunday in October, Northeast Ohio Right to Life joins with the national LIFE CHAIN organization and invites the members of churches and pro-life groups in each city and town across North America to stand on a designated local sidewalk and pray for one hour, while holding a simple and  non-graphic pro-life signs.   This year, we are asking churches to conduct the Life Chain OUTSIDE OF THEIR OWN CHURCH after their last service on Sunday morning.

The purpose of this annual event is to unite communities in silent prayer and to provide a visual symbol of strength in the community as life supporters join together.  Cities and towns across the United States held Life Chains in thousands of locations. Right to Life of Northeast Ohio coordinates the Life Chains held locally in Summit and Portage Counties.

During the Life Chain hour, idle chatter, frivolity, and both verbal and physical responses to motorists are strongly discouraged. LIFE CHAIN is a time for prayerful self-analysis, repentance, and serious commitment to helping end abortion in our nation.

Accordingly, LIFE CHAIN is not chiefly a demonstration, and its witness is not intended for the viewing public only. Instead, its first goal is to minister to its own participants—to those who call Christ their Lord and hold pro-life messages that declare abortion a grave evil that defames the name and holiness of God (Leviticus 18:21).     It is purposeful to note that LIFE CHAIN is non-political, church oriented and pastor focused and that the key to a successful Chain is for local pastors to educate their congregations about abortion and then participate with them on the chain.  At the very least, pastors should work with their pro-life groups to encourage their congregations to take part in this powerful witnessing opportunity.

Churches across Summit and Portage Counties were mailed information in July asking for their participation in this powerful event.  Below are links to Life Chain materials for the 2017 Life Chain.
